  15. publisher of the Las Vegas Sun; in Las Vegas. Greenspun bought
  16. the newspaper in 1950 with a $1,000 down payment and launched
  17. a front-page column, "Where I Stand," that bristled with strong,
  18. even outrageous opinion. In a 1950s piece, he predicted that a
  19. victim of Senator Joseph McCarthy's denunciations would
  20. assassinate McCarthy and recommended that the Senator commit
  21. suicide first.
